When Mystic Dunes Golf Club opened its course in 2001, it delighted those who love to golf and it quickly earned respect as a fun, yet challenging 18 hole course in Orlando, Florida. The Mystic Dunes golf course was designed by Champions Tour Player Gary Koch. He created the 7012 yard, par 71 course to test skilled golfers while still allowing golfers of all levels to enjoy the beautiful fairways and greens.
Pursuant to Koch’s foresight and planning, Mystic Dunes has received great praise from many sources since its opening. To name just a few of its awards, it was ranked by Golf Digest as one of the best places to play in 2004 through 2008, it received an award rating it among Orlando’s top five golf courses, and Golfweek rated it as one of the best resort courses in 2007. In addition, Mystic Dunes has hosted many prestigious tournaments including the Pink Ribbon Golf Classic, Celebrity golf tournaments, and the Buick Scramble.
Located in Orlando, Florida, Mystic Dunes is only moments from all of the Orlando attractions, including Disney World, Epcot Center, MGM Studios, SeaWorld, and Universal Studios. Excellent restaurants, chic shops and a thriving nightlife are also plentiful for those who want to venture off of the Mystic Dunes Resort & Golf Club grounds. With the frenzy of attractions surrounding Mystic Dunes, some may simply want to soak into the tranquil environment that only a golf course such as Mystic Dunes can offer.
Whether visiting Mystic Dunes for golfing or as an escape from the chaos of the tourist attractions, it cannot be denied that once you enter its fairways and greens, you will have a remarkable experience. The front nine offers wetlands, marches, oaks and cypress trees in a Carolina-type design. The back nine is different with bunkers and rolling hills in links-style course. The entire course is atypical in that there is water on only one hole. Visitors will also find a driving range, a GPS system, a 20,000 square foot clubhouse, a golf school, a restaurant, and a pro shop on-site. |
